Traditional European producers such as France, Italy, and Spain emphasise terroir; labels name the region, and styles tend to show acidity and earthiness.

New World

Newer producers such as the USA, Australia, Chile, and New Zealand name the grape on the label and often show riper, more upfront fruit.
